Look elsewhere if you want growth

Pros

None. My employment here was not desirable.

Cons

There is no opportunity for growth and the company refuses to promote from within. The benefits are expensive and management is terrible. I'm pretty sure most of the reviews here are from HR trying to boost their online presence. Look elsewhere.

It is unfortunate that you were not the right fit for the recent opening and we hope you will continue to work hard towards your goals and achieve them. We believe very strongly in promoting from within and the recent position you applied for was given to someone else within the company, not an outsider. Within the last year we have had over 20 people receive internal promotions and we are very proud of the fact that currently 5 of the 6 executive management team members were promoted into their positions.

Not a great outlook

Pros

The Company cares about the employees - until they start asking for things that cost money - like raises for themselves or their subordinates.

Cons

Lots of communication within the company due to the fact that nobody really knows what's going on except the CEO - and he wants to keep it that way. This business is "growing" exponentially, because of capital investment not organic products or services that are outstanding. If you know how to run a business the way the CEO's father did, you will fit right in, if not, good luck figuring it out. There is a very ingrained culture here of "this is how my dad ran it and that worked for Bill, so why change." Also, if you're in a position that costs money but doesn't generate revenue - be prepared to have some random metric or KPI used as a way to grade your performance - even though you'll never actually have a performance review until (see above) you ask for something like a raise and they decide you need to find another job on the sales team or outside of ITVOICE.

We appreciate all perspectives, as they help us identify areas for improvement. That being said, it seems there might have been some misunderstanding or confusion as your review appears to be intended for a different company. We do not have an HR Manager at our organization. Insights into the employee experience are highly valued, and we hold our reputation in high regard and aim to prevent any unintended misrepresentation. We want to make sure that you have the opportunity to provide your feedback to the appropriate organization. If you could please double-check the company you intended to review and redirect your comments to them, we would greatly appreciate it.

Pros

Mostly remote - hybrid work and pretty good work life balance, although management never checks on my work load so this can be variable - see cons. This company has a very value oriented culture where they truly do care about their customers and doing right by them. CEO is a family man and definitely cares about his employees and treats them like family. Unfortunately, he is just one man, and his managers in some departments do not seem to share this same level care for each individual employee. Company has been growing fast mostly through acquisitions and there is a lot of great ingredients available to make a truly great company.

Cons

Company's leadership structure has not kept up with their acquisitions leading some employees to be woefully under managed. This is not the case with all departments, but definitely some. My direct manager has not had a one-on-one with me since our company was acquired months ago. This leads to two problems. First, how can they know my work load and if I need support or not and how to support me with it. I also don't know where I stand with the company and where my role might be leading. It is difficult to get onboard with the vision when you don't know what the vision is and what role you are playing with achieving these goals. It's like being traded to a new team, but the coach has not told you what position you are playing, so you just wonder around on the field trying to figure it out.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send your honest feedback. I am always interested to hear ways we can improve, and the only way to do that is to know where our blind spots are. I am sorry to hear you have not had a one-on-one with your direct supervisor. I understand how that might make it difficult to feel like a part of the vision, and get your footing. It is so important to me that our team knows how valuable they are and feel supported by management. I would like the opportunity to correct this. I would love to hear any additional comments or concerns you may have, and make this right. If you feel comfortable, please send me an email so we can meet and discuss. Thanks, Will Slappey
