Pros

-Easy Work -Some friendly people -Possible opportunities to create change in the company, product.

Cons

-Lame culture -Mediocre dev hardware -India devs are terrible and make the product terrible -Most of management aren't very good -They don't pay-out earned vacation, and terminated me after putting in my two week notice (I was moving to a much better company). Very childish and unprofessional executives.

Pros

Most of our co-workers are great to work with though some have a real attitudes and superiority complexes and could care less about you. Once in while they would have an "auction" where you could win all sorts of prizes through the use of iCentris bucks that you could earn for doing something good. They were given out as "atta-boys" and you could give them to your co-workers as well. Each person was given an allotment of money every now and then. Management would purchase all sorts of prizes from high-end electronics, to tickets, to mini-vacations to gift certificates etc. So this was a pretty nice program, except it seemed very skewed as only a few people would ever be able to bid enough money to win an auction for a high value item, unless you hoarded your iCentris bucks for several months. The developers who seemingly did all the work typically had a high amount of iCentris bucks for every auction that forced some of the lesser rewarded people out, even though they did a lot of work in their own realm of things. Personally, I would have rather just had cash, but this was the program they instituted at the time.

Cons

Always worried about whether we will have a job or not. Issues getting VC and there were some bad rumors of shady deals going on with one person who was supposedly supplying some of the cash. Working with the IT department is like having to step on egg shells. They have short fuses and are very unapproachable. There are some real "tools" in this department. Benefits were not the best, but for a smaller company I suppose they were alright. It would have been nice if they did not change providers and plans as often, but I am sure they were watching their bottom line. They have had to lay-off several people to remain economically viable.

Pros

None come to mind. Other than once you leave you appreciate other jobs much more, nothing can be as bad as icentris. And the CEO isn't Peter Benedict anymore, he's been out for a few years.

Cons

They lie during the interview process, making things sound great, just to get anybody to work for them, and after you are in a few weeks the truth comes out. I don't know of anybody who works for them now or in the past and hasn't had this "oh man, what did I get myself into" moment when the curtains are pulled back. They don't understand how to do software development. The project managers don't coordinate work well between each other, everything is always critical, planning doesn't happen, and developers are run 24x7 with no personal time, putting out the fire of the day. They tried to make it better and brought in a new CTO, but he left within a year because none of the PMs wanted to change from their broken ways, and everything went back to how bad it was, if not worse. The two owners are brothers that hate each other, and they create massive drama and fear because of this. Leaders shout in the halls. Highly difficult. Leadership are all sales people, who don't get it and just want things to work in short periods of time, always taking shortcuts. They are on a death spiral, losing customers, and everything is in fear. I recommend avoiding this place. Leaving it has made me feel like it created PTSD, I kid you not. I feel much better being out of there.
