Pros

Gorgeous mountain campus. We had a nice community prior to 2014. Interesting institutional history.

Cons

Historically plagued by a reliance on often ill suited, full pay students and an aging facility. 2014, board hires a new CEO out of desperation, their first choice backed out. Then began the downward spiral. Current CEO is all spin and hype while actively undermining all employees, manipulating the clueless and aloof board, hiring a mostly useless senior team she can manipulate, and leading school into further financial woe. Most smart people have left, turnover is extreme. Board is afraid - or too clueless - to make needed changes. Extremely sad. Bankruptcy seems on the horizon. If you speak up, they fire you or demote you, so people are afraid to say the truth .

Pros

Some of the smartest, nicest kids I've ever worked with. Beautiful campus. Great teachers and coworkers.

Cons

Appalling management. They hired me and then let me go due to administrative and money issues within a year. They lied to me- seemingly for intentional cruelty- during the firing, and never bothered to go through HR or my department chair. I worked sometimes fifteen or sixteen days in a row with no breaks pretty regularly. On Fridays I worked 10AM-11PM- meetings, then my regular teaching schedule and then a grueling shift in the dorms. Everyone was exhausted, overworked, and either fired to save money or thinking about quitting. When I asked, people said this was just the "culture" there. All departments dramatically understaffed and turned over constantly. I lived on campus and when I was moving out, maintenance went into my house, opened up a bunch of my moving boxes, took things they then "lost" and gave me back what wasn't valuable. They stole kitchen appliances, tools, cosmetics, furniture, and prescription meds- and then they got mad at ME for it. Hugely disrespectful to staff and massively disorganized.
