Pros

Location, fun events, more drama than daytime shows, free pudding and beer. If you love trying to fix bugs in software or selling broken or false software, this place is for you.

Cons

The owner has major power trips and enjoys yelling, intimidation, and talking in circles. Many of his minions are in executive roles which makes it hard to get anything accomplished. They tend to blame and fire older employees and keep the younger, cheaper ones even though they are the ones who are causing all the "bugs" in their software and losing their clients. The owner yells and screams and makes everyone feel uneasy. If you attempt to make some changes, the owner and upper management blocks every move.

Pros

There are some great developers there; the team I worked with had some of the most talented people I've ever worked with. Company events were fun.

Cons

The environment at ImageTrend is toxic from the top down. The higher up you get, the worse your experiences will be. The leadership team is highly dysfunctional and is by far the worst I've worked with in 10+ years of experience in the software industry. They expect their mid-level managers and leaders to stick their neck out when the outcome is unclear, but as soon as things start going well, the VPs immediately take credit for the idea/project/success as if they were championing it the whole time. ImageTrend is an okay spot to start your career or get experience, but the ambitions and/or efforts of those with leadership potential or a desire to change an organization for the better will be shut down. And if that isn't soul-sucking enough, the lack of integrity and morality by the senior leadership team in terms of dealing with both employee and client-related matters is enough to drive most people who get close enough to experience it away for good.

Pros

Adequate job for recent graduates who want some entry level experience. 10 work from home days a year.

Cons

This company is run very lean and there is a serious lack of management. You have your Executive Leadership team, comprised of a group of people who are either related to the CEO or have been with the company the longest. Unfortunately they are not necessarily the most qualified people for their roles, and they directly 'manage' all of the undersized teams beneath them. Middle management barely exists, so most teams have no on boarding or training structure leaving new hires completely lost and trying learn about complex software solutions. Meanwhile hard-working employees have nobody to ask for help or guidance when issues come up, leaving them guessing at their work. Compensation is well below average and there are no monetary incentives. There is little to no opportunity for career advancement. You may find that your responsibilities have suddenly expanded significantly yet you are not being compensated any more than entry level. It seems that unless you work in development or sales, you will not get a raise. Incentives include beer on tap and a ping pong table, which for some may be enough.
