Flexible work but dishonest culture

Pros

flexible, 4 day work week, interesting work.

Cons

There is a lot they do right - some best practices and staff have a lot of freedom. But the culture can be dishonest & manipulative. A few c-suite leaders are proudly Machiavellian - which is odd and sad. "Blurred lines", "bait and switch" and general corporate gamesmanship are the norm, and it can infect your health and your own sincerity with others. Neuroscience is revealing of the harm this can do to the brain - so be careful if you start to feel confused, i.e. the 'brain static' effect.

Some good things but overall culture diminishes it

Pros

- Good benefits - Good flexibility - Interesting work, get to learn about social enterprise models, the entire Charitable sector and how it functions - Good salary progression - you know when raises are coming and they are tiered to your salary band which is great in most circumstances but if you reach the top of your band you are stuck unless you get a promotions which are generally only given out to people based on who their boss is.

Cons

- Lots of red tape that hinders innovation. - The corporate culture takes away from most of the pros of working at the organization. There is an ingrained culture of bullying and favouritism. A few bullies at the highest level of management ruin the experience for everyone else. If your position means you don't have to interact with those people it is generally a better experience. Otherwise get ready to see people cry in meetings.
