Pros

CO-workers are wonderful and always willing to help. Support staff is wonderful and always available and flexible. Teachers work very hard, long hours...pro for the school and students, con for the teachers.

Cons

Student misbehavior has no meaningful or immediate consequences. Most students are rude and disrespectful to teachers and staff as well as low parent support from home. Students cuss at teachers and each other and the administration tells them not to do it again and sends them back to class. Students fight and are back in class 10 minutes later with a note from administration to let them know if anything else happens. Administration is so busy with the business side of things, trying to stay complicit, that they rarely support teachers when students need removed from the class room or school....they need the money from students being enrolled.

Pros

The families that you have the benefit of working with through out the school year is absolutely amazing! Majority of the students are very well behaved and love being at school, and parents are always supportive of reinforcing classroom rules and expectations. The students are always a ton of fun as well and I suggest that you take the time to get to know each and every one of them!

Cons

The school is always cutting their budget and declining full-time positions to avoid having to pay Teachers what they are worth and to avoid paying for benefits. They will often ask you to work over-time last minute with zero warning but yet will cut your hours elsewhere to benefit their agenda to not have to pay you what you worked and to not be legally abided to offer you health insurance. They also pull Teachers from other rooms and are often out of ratio do to lack of planning. Very unorganized, and definitely do not make teachers feel like they are appreciated at all. It is all about the money with this school and it is sad to watch Teachers quit every year because of it.
