Pros

- Very easy work - Great team members - Most people who visit the venue enjoy themselves, not too much customer de-escalation needed

Cons

- No hours, an expectation to run a venue on limited hours just isn’t viable - Lots of lone working, can be dangerous as a female to be alone in venue - Venue Manager isn’t supported by their higher ups, therefore means they struggle to support their team - Venue Manager lacks training which then limits the training they can pass on - The tech is outdated and you will be up a ladder everyday fixing something (Very safe with the lone working) - No progression within the company - Supposed flexible hours, but with the limited hours you are given a week you can’t say no

Pros

Great venue team who all help and support each other. Use of a gamebox each month for staff which is great to bring family and friends along to play the games. Supported by Manager and Area Manager.

Cons

If you want a buzzing venue and to generate more income and more positive reviews you should have enough staff working rather than cutting their hours to save money as totally defeats the object. Higher management need to work a shift on the floor to really understand how it works on all levels. Threat of a disciplinary for lateness due to train delays or not getting enough reviews. That attitude doesn’t work for me as it’s not motivating at all. I’ve worked at a higher level in my career previously elsewhere and found that by respecting my staff I got much better results. If I did get a disciplinary for this they’d be pinning it to my back as I walked out the door!

Pros

Pretty rewarding based off of the location of where you are. Lots of free networking in place due to corporate events. Co-workers and great guests definitely makes the days go by fast.

Cons

- Constantly fighting for hours because that's typical labor hour bonuses for managers - Constant micro managing - Absolutely no growth at all
