Pros

I think that they really do try their best and operate from a place of good intentions. My first two years at Impact Advisors were great, but my next year was terrible. I was assigned to great projects up front and then was assigned to projects outside my skill set but nobody seemed to care.

Cons

Impact Advisors is a highly political environment. Many of the staff, mostly the ones that the executives worked with at a previous firm, are protected and can do no wrong. Those of us that were hired without these political connections are often treated as scapegoats. The leadership is highly biased when it comes to promotions. The parameters for promotions are always changing. Even though there's a development framework, the change the actual parameters to get a promotion so even if you are completing their career development framework, you still may not be promoted. It's a frustrating and biased system they have.

Pros

Impact Advisors used to be a wonderful place to work, and I thoroughly enjoyed working for this firm. However, I started to notice a huge push for some pretty unhealthy communication and treatment of others that I wouldn't stand for. When I voiced my concerns, I was demoted or devalued for the hard work I had pushed through.

Cons

I have witnessed some very poor behavior towards employees and clients at Impact Advisors. I joined this organization based on the morals and values of the leadership team, only to leave with a strong distaste for the overall treatment of employees. There are so many long-term employees that have become toxic to this company, and when I voiced my concerns, I was eliminated from the company's future endeavors.

Pros

When I made the decision to go into consulting it was somewhat scary. I was FTE for 20 years with the same company. I was looking for a full time partner to work with and knew I had to find my "perfect fit" company to join. My husband and I both did our homework. We interviewed companies as much as they interviewed me. When we tallied our score cards Impact by far outweighed any competition. Apparently we were a match. I'm here working for my perfect for company! What I found working here is that Impact truly and refreshingly practices what they preach, everyday. The staff, from senior leadership to your fellow consultants, truly care about you, the client, and what is best for both the client and our firm. Impact has the WINNING formula. As is evident in the continuous industry awards receive as well as the caliber of staff we continue to recruit. I wake up every day with a smile on my face knowing I made the right decision. I honestly can't imagine working anywhere else!

Cons

Travel is hard on your body and your mind. It takes you away from our families (human and pets) which can be hard. Impact has found the perfect formula to keep us both satisfied at home and work. Work life balance is not just a phrase here.
