Boys Club: Circus edition

Pros

The majority of the colleagues are nice and really talented people. Unfortunately as you go up the ladder to more senior management the competency seams to dwindle. The company struggles greatly with bringing in structure and creating a strong, transparent working atmosphere. With every quarter the new "hero project" shifts to something else and there are no strong quarterly evaluations done to see what is and is not working. Instead what is or is not working is more based on personal conflict and preferences from the C-level management and the other participants in their boys club. It at times feels a bit like a circus with everyone just roaming around looking at the animals (projects/products), pointing and laughing. C-level management likes to gossip themselves about each other and the team which unfortunately creates a sometimes awkward position for more junior people and in general promotes the feeling that gossip is okay. At Incari information is a currency to get ahead, keep that in mind. If you are looking for a job where you can grow, develop new skills and feel respected this is not the company for you. There are no road maps and growth plans made for individuals, salary negotiations are more often than not answered with "please just don't ask" and depending on how well you get along with C-level you may or may not be a free for all to make uncalled remarks about. Your psychical appearance and personality - outside of a professional capacity - being some favorites of some people.

Cons

The vastly international group of people working at Incari makes it easy to find people you get along with and learn from others. Most people regularly have lunch together and participate in monthly after-work hangouts. These people will make the unpleasent environment bearable. HR and the office team when I worked there were actively trying to create a more pleasant atmosphere with paid-for pizza lunches and some sandwiches. If you have a manager/team lead that is not looking to weasel their way up to the top and is empathetic you can have a great time working at Incari. The product is interesting and some of the projects are exciting with interesting partners. A layer of protection, like a good manager, makes a huge difference here.

Pros

Employees are very nice and welcoming.

Cons

No room for employee development. All the tech stack is decided and managed by only one person. No questions to be asked. Salaries are way below market average and no promises at all for increase. Micromanagement is crazy!

Pros

Good location, lovely colleagues, English speaking, open culture, accomodating. Happy to work here.

Cons

In the process of streamlining tools and processes - moving from a slight disorganization which comes from growing from a small start up to what we are now to transparent and orderly work processes.
