Pros

Access to great benefits through parent company Cardinal Health. One of the top three medical supplies wholesalers/distributors in the country, and offer the largest selection of supplies across numerous product categories for target customers (Durable Medical Equipment providers).

Cons

Pay is less than adequate for what sales reps are asked to do. There is ZERO sales support for reps as far as going through the process of onboarding new customers. Internal processes that are crucial to moving deals forward are very poor, especially the egregious amount of time it takes to get a needed contract to earn a customer's business, among other things. Minimal to no communication from category managers or other internal teams on products or orders that demand attention. Pay structure is 60/40, with 60% coming from your near-minimum-wage base salary, with the remaining 40% based on your prior month's attainment to revenue and margin goals. Your entire book of business will likely hinge on the performance of 2-3 accounts, and if you do not inherit a reasonable territory, losing even one of those accounts will make climbing out of your performance "hole" nearly impossible as sales goals sharply increase as the year progresses. Minimal guidance and training once you are actually on the sales floor after completing basic product training. Service is nowhere near where it should be. No rhyme or reason for many of the processes and incidents that happen at the DC's across the country. Depending on the region you're assigned to, you'll be either micromanaged or receive no management at all. Management stuck in the ways of old when company was privately owned. Blatant favoritism and preferential treatment for reps that are part of their "in" crowd.
