Unprofessional Company

Pros

Cool office space in Alexandria. If you like Washington DC, you get exposed to different politicians who come by the office begging for press coverage. Yearly company vacation.

Cons

Staff is incredibly unprofessional and disorganized. Emails go unanswered and overtime is expected but not paid for. Considering the location of this business, in the DC metro area, they pay VERY poorly. Management is very arrogant.

Pros

some autonomy red bull fridge

Cons

fellowship program was not fully fleshed out and it strained the relationship between fellows. We were contracted workers, who were paid $500.00 biweekly. Some of the work amongst fellows was NOT lateral and recognition was not given to those who were not contributing to the paper mill they describe as "hard news" -Sketchy editors would not let me copyedit stories before publication -writers (not to be confused with the reporters) are not professional in this outlet... they are sloppy and don't exercise ethical judgement.
