Pros

Adventurous opportunities to work and travel. It's not a job. It's a life that you have to lead. No other organization can trust you with so much. No other organization pays you so much at such an young age.

Cons

Like I said, it's not a job. It's a life that you have to live and experience! Be prepared.

Pros

A highly adventurous life. Extremely fulfilling. Get to see quite a few different countries and interact with people from different cultures. Highly sophisticated ships, submarines and aircraft.

Cons

Family life can be quite disrupted particularly in operational appointments. The frequency of transfers can be quite over-whelming and does cause a problem particularly for children's education.

Makes you mentally tough and keeps you physically fit. Develops Self helpfulness, builds confidence, creates never give up attire, high scope of learning and exploitation of state of the art technology.

Cons

Literally one will have to sacrifice the family, Large scale influence of power by the officers and high-ups to gain access to prominent decisions to their personal advantage. Lack of job satisfaction as the work is never ending one.
