I did everything asked of me... and was fired anyway
Pros
There were some very nice nurses
Cons
I was hired as Director of Nursing as the place was opening up. I put my heart and soul into my work, similar to how I treat my own recovery. I was starting to gain the confidence and trust of the good staff members and the bad ones were weeding themselves out. There was so much to do to get the place off the ground that I couldn't spend as much time with the floor nurses as I wanted to. Nevertheless, I did not hesitate to help in busy times. I never let any employee feel abandoned. Clients started to line up outside my door to talk to me. A senior management figure told me half my staff would turn over in the first six months and not to worry about it. But I was gaining trust. Then they decided wasn't "hands-on" enough and fired me without warning with two days' severance. Absolutely unreal and incredibly unprofessional. To this day, I don't know what I did wrong, and I certainly didn't get a chance to fix it.
