Stooping to Planted Reviews? I Guess Things Haven't Changed.

My work-life balance was good while I worked at Qqest/Infinisource. The QA team was great and easy to work with. The development team was full of excellent personalities and skill. Salary was not excellent, but was good. They have implemented tuition reimbursement for formerly-Qqest employees. Adding business analysts into the product development process was an excellent move. 401k match vesting period is generous, even though the match itself is not.

The whole reason I'm writing this is to combat what appear to be blatantly planted 5-star reviews, full of things that only company representatives would say (PS, guys, you paraphrased "Keep doing what you're doing" twice, and used "continue" or "keep" -- synonyms in this case -- in every single "Advice to Management") that have been posted. As of today, there are 5 5-star reviews, one-after-another, between Feb. 11, 2015, and Feb. 14, 2015 -- which follow 5 extremely poor reviews spanning a 2-month period. I've worked for companies that have been bought out previous to this one. There is a common attitude among those who have managed to accidentally stumble to success and then purchase other companies -- "If they are making money with their current management, imagine what would happen if ~we~ ran their business!" I agree that Qqest wasn't very well managed, but the people knew their market and had numerous employees who had worked there for over a decade. Infinisource came in, laid off much of the "over-paid" staff without thinking about all the product and customer knowledge they were letting go, and took the helm. They have poor knowledge in how to run a software company, with unrealistic deadlines and ignoring of engineers telling them that something can't be done in their time-frame or that their requests are just completely bad ideas to begin with. While I was there, it felt like either middle-management was not passing along information to the executives, or that the executives just didn't care. A large percentage (possibly 50%) of the development staff have left in roughly the past year, taking with them over 30 years' of experience with the product. As for tech support, they've lost most of their highly skilled staff, leaving lower-paid employees who don't generally know the product or customer needs very well. Other cons would include, surprisingly for an HR company, an incompetent HR staff (at least when I worked there): 1) It took over a year to issue a new employee handbook after the Qqest buyout. 2) Not that I'm a huge fan of company Christmas parties, but while dispensing HR advice for Christmas parties on Twitter, Infinisource opts for $50 gift cards in lieu of any other bonus or party. 3) About 4 months after leaving Infinisource, I attempted to roll my 401k over, and they hadn't yet bothered to inform the 401k company that I was no longer employed there, so I had to wait for that. 4) I've never had to provide so many receipts for medical expenses for any other company's cafeteria plan.
