"Ok as a Beginner Job"

As a beginner job they do give you training period. You have a office you share with a someone.

Cons

No one talks. Its either talk about what you are working on at the weekly meeting else nothing. I moved from out of state and had a hard time adjusting and with no one talking I feel it is difficult to work. My work feels like a data entry person instead of a programmer analyst

Pros

Great company, comfortable environment, collaborative workers, excellent managers. Strongly believe in a 40 hour work week and paid overtime if you do have to work. Training available (and getting better). A good mix of challenging work and some mundane work (someone has to do it). Strong drive to make sure the investigators are happy. No cubicals - just shared (2 people) offices. Free bagels on Friday. People stay a long time.

Cons

Pay is good, but not great - but the work/life balance makes up for that. Advancement seems to be somewhat unstructured, but you do find yourself moving into other responsibilities. The coffee sucks.

flexible work hours; ability to work remotely; job stability since contracts are with the government; hourly pay instead of annual salary

Cons

management plays favorites; annual bonuses are $25 gift cards to all while some managers and favorites get secret bonuses; lack of communication and information sharing outside of different project groups; lack of recognition for good efforts but mistakes are blown out of proportion
