Good Academics but Toxic Favoritism and Cheating Culture
Pros
The university offers strong academic courses with valuable content, and the curriculum is well-designed for IT fields. The knowledge I gained was useful, and some faculty members are dedicated and supportive. The environment fosters technical learning, and the facilities are adequate for most needs.
Cons
The grading system is highly subjective, with biases based on appearances rather than merit. Many instructors and TAs assume disengaged students are incompetent, while others blatantly cheat yet receive high grades. A rampant cheating culture exists—students use phones, cheat sheets, and other unfair means, often going unpunished despite scoring absurdly well. The TA system is deeply corrupt, with favoritism, abuse of power, and even harassment cases. I witnessed a TA manipulate grades for friends, threaten students (including deleting evidence from a female student’s phone), and retaliate against complainants. Despite reporting issues to coordinators, no meaningful action was taken, and the TA later sabotaged my grades.
