Pros

The coworkers I met were nice and they give you AirPods, but other than that nothing seemed right.

Cons

The fact that someone at the company left a 5 star review (see review on 9/19/2023)on the same day that 42% of the team was laid off pretty much sums up the culture. Before I go into the cons of this company I want to take responsibility for not asking more questions about the vision of the company during the interview process. There were some red flags that came up before accepting the offer and I put my trust in what I was being told, instead of digging deeper. That’s my fault for not trusting my intuition. They sell you on culture, grow opportunities, company vision, and a great pay structure, but once I started I quickly realized that was all smoke and mirrors. They put all their eggs in one basket (helping businesses apply for the ERC - Covid tax credit) and once that was put on pause they folded quick. I was told by multiple senior level managers & executives that they had other services/products in their pipeline to pivot to because the ERC was set to expire in a year. When it came time to pivot, the only thing they had nothing but large scale layoffs. Not sure what they were looking at when it came to deciding who to layoff but they certainly kept people that did the bare minimum daily and let go of people that were tripling certain KPI’s. If you are thinking of taking a job here or even considering going through the interview process, I would recommend asking for details on there plan as a business and really feeling comfortable with the answers they give you. Most people don’t last as long as the typical sales cycle of a deal or even worse some people’s career here was shorter than the hiring/training process.

Thank you sharing for your feedback. The IRS moratorium was unexpected and required us to make staff adjustments. Innovation Refunds does value resilience and took the necessary steps to ensure the company’s future to keep focusing on helping small businesses.

Pros

Pay was high. People I worked with daily were great.

Cons

Easily the worst managed company I've ever worked for. The companies main source of revenue was cut off. I have no idea how anyone could think this company has any sort of future. I was on the dev team so I can tell you first hand, they've got nothing. The fintech they are promising is almost entirely a fiction. We never got to the point where we were developing any of it. And what we did develop was so hamstringed you wouldn't be far off in thinking they never actually wanted to develop anything in the first place. I'm telling you if you're still there, Get out now before they cut and run. And if you arent there yet, walk away from this imploding train wreck and never look back. I always thought reviews saying a place were a cult were just disruntled employees. But in this case it is true. Ask the people who work here if they were told they had to write down their feelings, then take them outside and burn them in an open fire. I'll leave it at that.

WORST COMPANY EVER

Pros

The pay was great until business slowed down.

Cons

The owners and management are CLUELESS! The owners put all their eggs in one basket on “1” program they knew would end! Because the IRS made a call to put a stop to the ERC, they just literally let 90% of their entire staff go!! Didn’t even have the decency to offer a severance package! SIMPLY SAD!

We appreciate your thoughts. However, it’s important to note that the workforce reduction was significantly less than what you’ve noted and all employees who were impacted received payment and benefits. The IRS moratorium was unexpected and required us to right-size the company during this waiting period and to support current business operations.
