Pros

It's a steady paycheck. If you are part time the pay goes up and down depending on how many hours the dumbbell managers decide to give you.

Cons

Nasty managers who sweet talk the owners and supervisors and then treat the store level employees like crap. Nasty, nasty customers. Flexible hours means you have to be flexible about the hours not the company. Union dues automatically taken from your paycheck which pay huge salaries to the union people who do a lousy, lousy job of representing the employees. Terrible company culture. Big egos of small people who run the stores.

Pros

No pros I can think of. They've crossed a line that will cost them alot of grief.

Cons

There's too many to count. They have no respect for employees, especially the people who have dedicated many years to their success. They have no respect for the families of employees. They have morons and wackos as managers and supervisors. They make money in spite of the people who are running the company. They have crossed a line with me, which will be dealt with a force that has never been seen. Legally, of course. Don't ever work for these scumbags, and most certainly, don't spend a penny shopping there.

Pros

Somewhat flexible scheduling, can request days off easily.

Cons

I am part time but have been often scheduled 48 hrs/wk. What sense does that make? When hired, I was told my work week would be 3 to 4 days. So far, I have been working 5-6 days. Mostly, it's been 6 days. Definitely not what I signed up for. Disrespectful management. Management does not treat overnight staff with respect or as human beings. Uses disrespectful language with employees. Unrealistic expectations from management to finish work within shift. Some employees have easy aisles to stock, while others like myself (at times) have more difficult aisles with a heavier workload. However, regardless of workload we are expected to finish by the end of our shift just the same. Locked in building during the night. I do not agree with this action, and it may pose a safety concern. We should be allowed to leave the store for breaks and lunch. I want some fresh air when I go on a break. Unhealthy work environment. Employees are allowed to smoke in the building. So for us nonsmokers who do not want to be exposed to second-hand smoke, we have no choice. Employees smoke while working and on break, meaning while items and merchandise is being handled and stocked, an employee may be smoking simultaneously with a lit cigarette in hand. Pay could be better, and better reflect the effort and amount of work needed for overnight stocking.
