Pros

IHE is a nice place to work, with a lot of focus on working hard and getting the job done together.

Cons

Several layoffs recently so many people are doing the work of more than one person. People are worried about their jobs. Parent company in England has had a lot of changes in leadership.

flexible hybrid work hours, great managers and colleagues, respected and widely-read outlet, good news values, guild protection for reporters

Cons

little appreciation from new mgmt, tiny team for expected work (5 new stories a day), very stressful job with long hours and little time to pursue bigger projects, absolutely no room for career advancement within the company

Solid benefits for an organization of its size

Cons

They say they’re the market leader…but they’re not. And the audience knows it. Hard to sell something when its own audience knows what you’re not selling. Small company too, no room for advancement.
