Very poor management

Pros

Quite generous annual leave but at the moment this is probably the only positive for working at Inspire North.

Cons

Management at all levels is very poor with very little 'real' transparency and no meaningful consultation when changes are implemented. Recruitment is also very poor with little or no induction period. I feel that staff are not treated with the respect they deserve and the organisation does not live up to the values it promotes.

Pros

Some fabulous colleagues to work with. Many genuinely care about there clients. Some good opportunities.

Cons

The ethos is fake. When your own mental health declines they will push you further down that spiral. You will be over worked. You will be gaslight when you highlight issues. Approach with caution.

Toxic culture

Pros

The front line services really help people.

Cons

Don’t be fooled by the fact this is a mental health charity, I have never worked somewhere that has had such a sheer lack of consideration for their staff. Everyone is overworked, stressed out and often rude to each other. I witnessed multiple occasions of senior management raising voices and talking down to people. There were often times in the break room where everyone was so miserable from how overworked they were that I chose to eat in my car to avoid it. Absolutely one of the worst environments and cultures I have ever experienced, more corporate than working in a bank but with worse pay and worse work loads and there’s the added gaslighting that you’re valued. I genuinely think the positive reviews are fake or from senior management, everyone I worked with was always looking for other work and this was openly discussed. I saw colleagues with long term health issues bullied into work when they were unwell, this combined with a lack of sick pay makes a really hostile environment for disabled people. The fact they advertise themselves as a disability friendly employer is a lie. I have met numerous people since working here who are ex employees who have similar stories so this is a long term issue. I would say to anyone to avoid working here unless they’re absolutely desperate. There is mass staff turnover, if that doesn’t tell you all you need to know I won’t know what will.
