Pros

AI Industry is super exciting, you get to do a lot of exploration and learn so much. Coworkers are mostly quite friendly and supportive, tackle interesting problems with a lot of personal creativity.

Cons

Management is horrible. No equity granted upfront which is crazy for a startup, horrendous pay. Constant lying and gaslighting in everything they say, also force you to write fake positive reviews. Long hours expected.

Toxic & Elitist Culture, Low Pay and crazy hours

Pros

Working with smart and friendly people. Getting the experience to work at an AI startup is exciting.

Cons

The company appears to prioritize hiring based primarily on which school you went to, as opposed to experience, with a noticeable preference for candidates from Columbia or Brown. Compensation is significantly below industry standards, especially considering the long hours expected. Overall, the work environment felt highly exploitative.

Pros

Obviously they are only hiring ivy leaguers and new grads, working with high-achieving people is a good learning experience, but there can also be times where there is competition in the workplace. Getting to work with clients is good, but really you can get that experience at other companies with higher pay.

Cons

Compensation is low relative to the hours and expectations. The role effectively requires being on-call around the clock, and weekend work isn’t uncommon, which is insane especially given the low pay. the position tends to attract mostly new grads (either those who had fewer alternatives or those drawn in by their strong marketing). The new hires are smart, but many have limited experience shipping and operating production-grade systems. The org structure, planning, and task allocation feel chaotic, which makes the workload even harder to sustain. Yes you get to travel and work with clients, but not with senior leadership, it feels more like a cog in the machine type of role. if you don't want to work in distribution, the client relationships you built aren't going to be helpful in any ways. There’s also no equity granted upfront, despite the long-hours expectation (crazy). Overall, I think the company would benefit from prioritizing experienced builders and customer-driven delivery over hiring purely for hype, ivy league titles, pedigree, or “AI super intelligence” branding.
