Pros

They have a great model for board and train type dog training. They are absolutely force free which isn’t always a pro but for the majority of these dogs that type of training has failed or made the situation worse. For a business if this nature and for dogs so reactive they cannot board anywhere else this is the best quality of care and safety you can get in the area.

Cons

Employees will be promised job growth when there is 0 intention of such. You will be incentivized to work fast and sacrifice the dogs time spent out of kennel, enrichment, cleanliness, & safety. You will be paid a rate that is low for entry level work but expected to have the knowledge and capabilities of a very experienced handler and if you are certified in anyway they won’t compensate you for your level of expertise. Employer doesn’t care how understaffing directly affects the quality of care for each dog & in behavioral health it’s detrimental to everyone’s mental state, work ethic, & efficiency. Employer would rather understaff and make profits then prioritize a healthy work environment, improve quality of care, or reward incentive or initiative.

Absolute mess.

Pros

Developing relationships with dogs struggling with behavior health issues, and learning from them—and the specific medicines/forms of treatment they undergo is an extremely rewarding experience. They also have a really good sense of setting up, cleaning a kennel, medicine/medical protocol etc

Cons

The management is pretty rough, the overturn rate is extremely high—influx of incompetent staff and unfair treatment between staff members. The owner does not help, or get involved nearly as much as she should. Some serious favoritism with various employed family friends, family members, and best friends that got high positions/pay/hours—all perks certainly not rooted in performance here. Assistant manager borderline hazes and diminishes new employees and various people have quit over this. Yet owner and upper management did nothing about it. Very unfortunate situation.
