Pros

If you want to work hard and you're passionate about your job, this is the place to do it. All the support and training is there for you and you're set up for success. Both the owners are hands on in the business and have been successful recruiters in their own right. They offer ongoing training and support to all employees. There are no restrictions on your market and in my case I was able to choose what I wanted to do - even though it meant a change in market - and was supported in developing a new area for the company. Culture and rewards are generous and achievable.

Cons

Only Matt can make a decent brew, and somehow always managed to avoid a dice roll!

Hello and thanks for your review - It’s music to our ears that you enjoyed your time with the company so much. You evidently appreciate the training & support yet autonomy that we offer to our team, which as you say for hard working & passionate people is the perfect recipe for success! We are super proud of our environment and that it has created so many award winning young recruitment professionals. You may be pleased to hear that since moving to our new office, that the dice is now obsolete given our super new quooker tap has replaced the kettle! Thanks again for your review and we wish all the very best for the future!!

Pros

I genuinely cannot think of any.

Cons

This place is definitely not a nice place to work. You will get sold a dream by the management-they will act like charm personified at the start-do not be fooled! Unfortunately this is a very old school recruitment type of environment-A lot of ego with no substance. Very segregated. No team work or shared morale. The team do not welcome you in, very cliquey. The only area that does well is e-learning. No training is provided whatsoever. Bullying micromanagement tactics. If you are struggling they do not help you, instead they virtually manage you out. Very high turnover of staff-this wouldn't happen if they actually invested time into training and development. Poor commission structure, you pay for your own socials, very long hours and no career progression path. They try to portray a work hard play hard mentality but really they want you to work hard so they can make more money for minimal effort on their part. They would do a lot better if they reviewed their training and ethos.

We are genuinely upset that you felt compelled to write such a negative review, naturally we would like to resolve the issues you have, therefore please do not remain anonymous and get in touch with us. Obviously we don’t agree with your comments, and we are struggling to understand that if Instinct is such a horrendous place to work, why you would have chosen to have been employed by the company for more than a year? To that end, we would like to make comment on your review: We are proud that we have a very strong team who work excellently together, are very friendly and enjoy high levels of success. This excellent team ethic produces super results and rewards, which have recently included a team day at the races, and a weekend city break. Furthermore we have an extremely good commission structure which has been industry benchmarked, so naturally as with any commission structure, if an individual is successful they get handsomely rewarded. As a business we do not have a very high turnover of staff, and we absolutely do not have a micromanagement environment – quite the opposite in fact, we have a grown up, supportive culture that allows positive and ambitious individuals to flourish, as is the case with many of our team who have enjoyed super career progression with the company. We obviously weren’t the company for you and for that we apologise. However we sincerely wish you well in your future endeavours.

Pros

I worked at Instinct for nearly five years and enjoyed every minute of my time there! I joined the company with no prior recruitment experience but was able to hit the ground running very quickly after being trained and coached by both Directors, who were very hands-on and involved in developing their staff and had expert knowledge of the sector that the company specialises in. Over time, Matt & Mike developed a friendly, relaxed company culture, with a strong set of values, where everyone knew what was expected of them on a daily basis, so there was no micro-management. Throughout my time there, they continued to be on hand to provide advice and guidance and were really passionate about growing the company from within and developing you as a person, as well as an employee. You were also given the freedom to choose how you wanted your career to develop. The rest of the team were also a pleasure to work with and everyone got on very well. By the time I left, the team were consistently achieving personal and team incentives, which led to a number of trips abroad, award ceremonies and weekends away, all expenses paid! I left Instinct due to a relocation and was fully supported by both Directors, who helped make a stressful process a lot easier through their help and flexibility, which I'm extremely grateful for.

Cons

Due to an abundance of sweet treats that are constantly in the office, it may be difficult to maintain a healthy BMI...

Whilst this is an anonymous review, obviously we know who you are! We 'd like to take this opportunity to thank you, not only for the review but for all the effort and energy that you put in to helping us create the culture that we have today. 5 years is a long tenure of continuous employment and you were integral in the development of the business over this period, enjoying many of the reward incentives along the way. We miss you, but wish you well - thanks and all the very best for the future!
