Pros

1) Pay was competitive 2) benefits were good.

Cons

This company leaves a lot to be desired. I wished I hadn't wasted my time with them. It cost me way more than any benefit I received. I passed up better options during the hiring process due to "what I thought" and "was told" would take place. The CEO is an extremely headstrong leader, and runs things with a very pompous attitude, with an ego higher than anyone I've ever met in leadership, who will tell you one thing, and do another behind your back. The staff has a weird vibe towards him and it's evident that they fear for their jobs when/if they speak up—always being very careful how they approach him. His lack of understanding of the sales processes, marketing, and building out a sales team is very evident, and he was losing control of the company quickly before I left. After their COO left, it was downhill from there. The company is struggling financially and my guess won't make it but maybe another year or two. The company is WOKE and the whole time I was there was celebrating things that went outside my ideology. Without showing any respect to people who may think differently, celebrating gay pride, but not Veterans Day was a red flag and a big disappointment. They say they pride themselves on their core values, but that is a tagline that is far from followed. They have laid off many, with total disregard for promises made and with zero compassion. Lessons were learned from working with this company, and they were not positive ones.

Pros

Great co-workers. Every other engineer and "ground floor" employee I worked with was awesome, smart, talented and passionate about doing a good job.

Cons

Leadership. There's a reason why basically no one is still at the company from its first 6 months of existence. While I was there it was upsetting to watch all of the people who took a GIANT leap of faith in the vision of the company never be trusted with real leadership decisions or be able to directly help grow the company. They all eventually left as people from the CEO's old company joined and were given trust above and beyond them. For my part, I generally believed in what was pitched to me by the CEO himself as the vision for what the company could and should be, but I ended up having to leave since that vision just was not what my day to day work experience ended up being after many promise to the effect that things will change. As for day to day work be prepared to not always pair program and practice TDD, but also advocate for them. They are a must/one size fit-all solution.
