Long Hours, Horribly Boring

Pros

Convenient Location. Keg in office.

Cons

They require long hours and don't give much feedback on work. You may think you have finished work for the day at 6 pm, but a senior engineer can ask you to stay a couple extra hours to help them finish their work at any time. They justify ridiculous overtime by paying hourly to low level engineers.

Pros

The guys who run the San Francisco office are constantly looking to obtain work and keep the office running smoothly. Suggestions from employees are taken seriously and they care about their team members.

Cons

Work life balance can be a challenge at times but if you're having trouble with your workload, the managers will listen to your issues.

Pros

Structured firm with 2-day intensive training prior to first day start ! Sustainable and challenging projects (if you are assigned to one). Plenty of projects in the forecast.

Cons

Promises not realized. Poor communication of upper management and employees (yelling is normal). No annual performance review. non-competitive salaries. Some clients dictate the design for engineers! Long expense reimbursement process(a month is normal). Inconsistent work/life balance activities. As a senior engineer, don't expect to learn more than you know already because the expectation is for you to complete as many projects as possible and mentor as many junior engineers as possible instead.
