Pros
Limited - health insurance was adequate, but during my time with the IU, the contracts changed and the union only protected SOME groups of employees
Cons
Administration is punitive and does not support employees - if you are from a mental health or clinical background, the educational paradigm does not play the same way - be prepared to have little support from your supervisor or even the schools - they have an agenda, and it is not always student-focused. The IU 1 is dabbling in mental health supports, but the supports are not CLINICAL, although they boast that they provide therapy... it's not therapy, it's social skills training. The longer I stayed with the IU, the worse the culture became. BEWARE - it's not such a great agency.
