Pay no mind to the man behind the awards
Pros
Most people were nice, and friendly. Commute is also very accessible. Such a shame, given what's coming next.
Cons
There was a version of this review tHat was much longer and went Into so much Detail regArding the poor treatment of the employees by management, the belittlement, the racism, the sexism. I still haVe audio recordIngs and emails of management saying Disparaging things about women, minorities, or making inappropriate comments to employees about their looks, diet, and disabilities. Said accounts, recordings, chat logs, and emails, are compiled in a google doc which I'm still deciding what to do with because some of the stuff I've witnessed been done to others, and myself, is morally reprehensible. I know that IIL at large knows about the situation in Media as well since turnover is not only extremely high (Since 2021, 27 employees have come and gone from a department that usually staffs up to 8 people at a time) but also because one of those employees has reported these things to HR and the CEO. 3 Years later, the situation hasn't changed. The quality of the work is its own spectacular failure. Not only is it subpar compared to what people are making in 2025 (not companies. PEOPLE), but that's only WHEN it gets done. I remember one time we got a request from a different department to make a video that was due the following week. A year and a half later it still wasn't done (I left and I don't know if they ever finished it). There is so much razzle and dazzle in the media department, emphasizing awards and "prestige" because there's nothing below the surface. IIL Media is a den of lies. That's why management tries taking Glassdoor reviews down. That's why they say they're "not specific enough, so they're obviously not true." Glassdoor Terms of Service won't let us get that specific. Management can lie to the CEO, they can lie to the people they interview and hire, but eventually the truth always comes out and I have the hope that one day the full truth does come out. If you do still decide to work at IIL Media, here’s a survival tip: always fact check.
