Pros

-Being a practice known for working with the LGBTQIA+ population -Location (Andersonville) -I had remarkable supervisors that provided the support needed to endure so many immediate and--subsequently--harmful changes.

Cons

-Hired a CAO that sourced the therapists for changes we'd like to see in the practice, but seemingly carried out his own interpreation of our needs with his own agenda. -Changed compensation model with little to no understanding of our needs, nor compromise. -Timely expectations for clinicians, but no accountability for timely responses from upper management. -Inconsitent communication about policy changes, along with "threats" regarding adherence, only to not follow through with said changes or communicate that those shifts had been delayed/backburnered. -Creating an environment of anxiety and hypervigilence due to swift policy changes, lack of communication, lack of consideration towards the parties impacted by said changes, and an inconsistent commitment to equity for all employees.

Pros

Non-admin clinicians that they trick into working here are amazing

Cons

Work here if you'd like to experience workplace trauma, exploitation, racism, sexism etc. No transparency or accountability from leadership whose first priority is maintaining their power and control. Being a queer affirming practice means you actually provide training and actual support for your queer clinicians.

Pros

I loved my clients - It was a joy and an honor to serve a predominantly LGBTQ+ client population. I gained exposure to a wide range of ages and clinical presentations and had the flexibility to choose to see individuals, couples/relationships, and/or families and had the clinical supervision to expand outside of my comfort zone when ready. My experience with one-on-one and group supervision was excellent; I always felt supported and had a safety net in place for when I worked with clients presenting with active risk or who were presenting with issues I was less familiar with. I grew and learned a lot from my fellow clinicians.

Cons

Morale was almost always rock bottom among the client-facing team. It felt impossible to make a liveable wage here. The salary brackets as advertised on the company website are only for when you have a stable, full caseload... this was never the case for me over the time I worked there. (And I advocated for additional clients constantly.) Expect to earn only the minimum "base salary" for your first year or more. Administration is led by a non-clinician and policies are inflexible and profit-driven. Decisions are made quickly with seemingly little to no input from the team that works directly with clients and communicated poorly to all involved.
