Pros

The original team was amazing. After being acquired it's been all down-hill.

Cons

It's frankly staggering to have watched the incompetent management not see who the valuable contributors were over the past few years. It was equally mind-numbing how those who did nothing but hold back the team and sabotage projects with one horrendously ill-advised decision after another ... were revered and rewarded. The Frisco culture (headquarters) is all about throwing others under the bus, putting their fingerprints on everything and taking credit for the work of others. They have ZERO domain knowledge, yet refuse to listen to those who do. The amount of money wasted is shocking. And they never learn, repeating the same amateurish approach on each new project. Management is so fixated on bogus burn-down charts, while paying zero attention as to real-life progress or the health of the team. The team? They couldn't care less about the team. I could give countless examples. I worked in Burlington for almost ten years. I loved my team and we always did the right thing and decisions were easy because we respected each other. After the acquisition things went smoothly for a period, until they began driving out the original team, one by one. And after each person left ... you guessed it ... they were blamed and disrespected. Thrown under the bus. I had to fight to give me direct report an exceeds for the year because it meant more money. Yet they blew over a million on a project that could have been done for half the price and better. Top-down approach for everything. There's no grassroots contribution or innovation welcome at IntrinsiQ. I was never so happy to be able to walk away, but it was sad leaving my team behind in that Hell.

Pros

Benefits were average and as expected. Some flex time.

Cons

Heavy work load and a just do it attitude from mgmt. Often taking work home to keep up. Long hours. Running company so lean and everyone is so stressed huge mutates or oversights are made, requiring more hours, stress, and constantly in a damage control mode. CEO is crass and doesn't care. Basically shut up and do your job. Values customers more than employees (backwards, does not foster team building, job satisfaction)

Pros

Opportunity (forced) to expand your skill set. Not sure uf you want to be a network engineer? You will be, along with resetting passwords and becoming an industry clinical expert. They say the team helps everyone grow. Yes the process is in place and mgmt thinks it works great. Large PARENT company is invested in this small venture, so its prob stable but run very very lean.

Cons

Team knowledge share is a joke. There are a couple long timers who will help when asked, problem is not knowing what to ask and nobody will approach you with opportunity,. You can ask your mgr and then maybe theyll delegate to some who cant or wont, and zero accountability (you feel like youve just been had). Since the turnover is so high the ones with knowledge are stretched thin. One mgr spends his time playing games on his phone all the time, acts approachable, but really, what does this person add? At the end of the conversation you feel like yove been helped until you realize it was all talk, and your mgr/coach put it all back on you. Low salaries, not micromanaged but "eyeballed" all the time. 4+ weeks to get basic equipment to function, then somehow that was your fault and get thrown to the wolves with little experience and only a handful of 1:1 topic specific training. This kind of industry should be a 6 month ramp up. Youre in the drivers seat in 4 weeks, under a doesnt work team problem solving model, having just got all your equipment.
