Pros

Ability to work remote, and "unlimited" vacation when you can get the opportunity to take it.

Cons

A lot has changed over the course of five years, especially the past 2. The company is suffering talent flight as it continues to put inexperienced people in management roles based on how long they have worked with the leadership team (if you come from one of their former shops you should be all set, even if you just joined the company) and not based on quality of work and overall job performance. This right here should be a tremendous red flag. Leadership proves time and again to be immature and unprofessional, with a lot of behind the back badmouthing of employees - this comes to light in group projects and other conversations when in the office or onsite. Expect your role and responsibilities to shift constantly without your input. Often times, changes happen above your direct manager, with poor communication, and you are expected to follow marching orders. There is little to no job training and employee development. The company is cheap to its remote employees, limiting morale boosters to the old school ways of stocking the office kitchens with sodas and miscellaneous unhealthy snacks. Benefits are not competitive, expect to pay a lot out of pocket for health insurance. The newly instated bonuses are insignificant and inconsistent with personal performance.

Pros

- Chances to learn a lot and go beyond the expectations of the role if desired - Definitely has a fun startup vibe still with rapid growth over the last few years - I had one SC on a project who helped me grow immensely and basically bent over backwards to make sure I felt supported

Cons

- Managers often are too busy on projects themselves to devote a good amount of time to their direct reports - Managers received no training related to managing employees, so often very large gaps in basic activities (planning for future goals, addressing improvement areas, etc.). Your experience with a manager felt like luck of the draw. - Sometimes unclear who your leaders are with each project. I had some great SC's who really supported me and helped me grow, but other SC's that essentially did nothing regarding coaching, checking in, etc. Sometimes felt like I was doing the same job as SC. - My team was strictly lacking in diversity. Mostly white men with zero women in leadership. As such, leadership often came across as blunt and lacking sensitivity for certain issues. - Compensation is strictly regulated with very limited opportunities for recognition (no bonuses below SC, if you're a new hire you get the same raise as everyone else regardless for your first two years). It felt like there was not much incentive to go above and beyond here. - Compensation was below market value. When I left, it felt like people were realizing they could make $120K+ elsewhere for less work. 50-70 hour workweeks for <$100K was not worth it. - Very large differences in levels of support between workstreams. Not much standardization in how teams are structured, how reviews and feedback work, etc. Comes with the startup turf. - Zero interest from upper management in certifying employees below SC in additional growth topics - When I had another offer on the table for more money, the only response from management was to offer equity. It seems this is the ace up their sleeve but not very enticing as the core issues pushing me out would not change. - WLB is definitely not built into this culture. It is commonplace to see SC's/managers on slack until late hours, and as a lower member on the totem pole you are expected to do the same. For someone coming out of college, this really warped my expectations for a healthy job and often lead to physical/mental impairments.

Thank you for taking the time to post! Being a good consultant is a tough job. Unlike when you work internally for a company, as a consultant you have to respond to the needs of your clients. Sometimes, this may mean that you have to work extra hours during key phases of the project. Anyone with experience working for a successful consulting firm knows that this is part of the job. That being said, Invisors works hard to foster an environment where consultants can have a balanced life. Some of these include: - True hybrid work model. We strike a balance between onsite work with the client (travel) and remote project work. - Generous PTO policies, and encouragement from management to “completely unplug” during PTO time. - Option to live anywhere within the U.S., not just within our core offices/metro areas. - Exceptional Parental Leave Policy which applies to primary and non-primary care-givers. - Flexible Work Arrangements to allow consultants to create custom work-life balance for their unique situations. When it comes to compensation and advancement, we’re proud of the opportunities we provide. When someone joins us at an entry-level from college, they receive substantial compensation increases every 6-months. Most entry-level consultants receive compensation increases of well over 50% by their second anniversary at Invisors. In consulting, if you work for a respected company, you will always have job offers for higher compensation from other places who have not made the investments in your future and skills that we have. Additionally, it’s true that we promote our team from within! We believe in developing talent and providing opportunities to lead and grow. Of course, even new managers sometimes have a steep learning curve. Our best teammates are those that work with their manager to build a coaching relationship that works for both parties. Exactly 50% of Invisors identify as women, and over 40% of Managers and above identify as women. We are working hard to develop and promote a diverse workforce. A career in Invisors definitely entails the following: - Working for a high-growth, fast moving company. We’re constantly trying to improve AND grow. That’s not going to change. Our best teammates thrive in this environment! - Opportunities for rapid increases in compensation and responsibility. Top performers reach Senior Consultant in two years. They lead interactions with clients, and they coach newer joiners. - Getting you out of your comfort zone. We will challenge you to be better and to make us better. This is not the job for you if you’re just looking to take it easy!

Pros

They paid me consistently and I met some fantastic coworkers

Cons

Upper management makes decisions with no base knowledge of their downstream impacts to their employees. They are complicit to employee harassment. They have a contract with Enbridge (look them up, one of the most unethical companies in America)
