Pros

The only thing good about this company is the small amount of good employees they still have left.

Cons

Since the new owners, company lies every chance given to prove to their employees there is growth. Orders have reduced because of the poor quality of parts. Management believes that intimidating their employees productivity will be higher. The normal threat is "do what I say, if you don't agree - there is the door". There is no respect, they treat employees as we are stupid and don't know what we are doing. When good management comes to work for this company, the owners make sure the good management doesn't last long. Very quick to terminate employees and not understanding the consequences behind their emotional decisions.

Pros

Majority of personnel at the manufacturing plants are hard working and trying to do there best. Can offer a lot of services for potential customers.

Cons

The executive leadership surprisingly has no understanding or could care less about the personal side of management.....which is strange since all have many years in the industry. There is a cloud of of intimidation driven from the top down which results in many employees in fear of termination. The turnover rate (firings) far exceeds anything in today's business world for this size of organization. It's being managed like a hired gun consultant brought in as an immediate turn around specialist. During my employment I never heard any recognition communicated to anyone for over and above accomplishments. Don't expect to receive actual goals or periodic performance reviews that would support being successful. There was never any communication on how the company was performing. The only truly happy employees are those that have been accepted in the special clique of the executive team. Just keep in mind that the main goal is to get sales up as quick as possible "at any cost" in order for these operations to be sold and the executives get to retire.

Pros

The people who work in Texas and Missouri are good people and aren't representative of the new owners in Chicago. They are generally helpful and want to do a good job.

Cons

The company is basically a revolving door. No one lasts more than 6 months because they're either fired or they quit because of the bad culture, horrible management, and the poor business outlook. The holding company owns Detroit Tool Metal Products and Imperial Group and the reviews for those companies accurately reflect the holding company. Because of Ironform's poor reputation, no respectable recruiter will work with them. Beware of being contacted by independent recruiters who aren't associated with a recruiting firm. Those recruiters will misrepresent the the job and company just to collect a commission. If offered at job at Ironform, look elsewhere.
