Pros

Good total compensation, comprehensive health and dental insurance, offers a prestigious job in Turkey

Cons

Current policy requires you to stay as specialist for at least 9 years before being promoted to assistant manager position. As a result most of its managers are outdated, and out of touch with anything that is going on in the world. In the last few years this situation led its top level managers to start relying on consulting firms to create initiatives and manage projects. So current situation is there is very little value that you can add as a junior employee, and very bad long term career options. Also very outdated and passive HR, no HR policies that I'm aware of.

Pros

1- Company has a good reputation in Turkey through out almost all sectors. So, it can be evaluated as a remarkable brand sitting on your CV. 2- It has its dynamics and discipline. Offers a culture where one can easily learn mechanism of business life in a professional way. 3- Even to say, it can be considered the best place to learn Banking sector for starters. 4- It offers a warm working environment including intimate friendship and family resembling feeling. 5- Job assurance is another plus. You may be definitely sure for retiring from the same position that you start your career.

Cons

1- Bank pulls you into its own problems and somehow cut your relation with the global developments and events. 2- After making a good start to Banking sector, you may possibly get stuck and lose your desire and vision about where to go and deep dive (specialization). Human Resource Management system in the Bank had created its weird culture and always put individuals interest behind the Bank's. So, you may probably feel ‘meritless’ after a while. 3- Top management of the Bank has its own ‘inherited’ perspective of hiring outsource workforce (global consultancy companies) for technology related big projects and they prefer to use their workload as an auditing and meta-managing tool for those projects. This causes lack of technical knowledge and hands-on experience for new cutting-edge technologies that the Bank has a will to use for the staff.
