Pros

I wanted to share my review, even though I left this place before the pandemic. I made some great friends there and still keep in touch with them. One advantage of working for a Muslim organisation was that I didn’t have to worry about people bringing in pork and then using the toaster or microwave. I miss the congregational prayers ❤️.

Cons

Many millennials have experienced trauma due to this unprofessional organisation. Feedback from individuals I know who worked there from 2020 onwards suggests that not much has changed. - The pay was terrible; I didn't even earn more than £25,000 despite my years of service, talent, and hard work. - I witnessed a significant amount of verbal abuse and bullying from upper management. - There was excessive workplace politics that those who worked at the Bonhill Street office would remember well, particularly involving a couple of HR managers. - Professional training was lacking, and there were limited opportunities for learning and development. - The culture of micromanagement was stifling. - Favoritism was rampant, with little to no recognition for other deserving employees. - There was a lack of work/life balance and flexibility. Pay deduction for arriving after 9 AM was unnecessary; I don't see this happening in many private and public sector organisations. I do not encourage young people, especially young women, to work there, as you risk being taken advantage of. It is not worth it! Seek experience elsewhere and start your career at an organisation that truly values you. Value yourself!
