Leadership above property, with very few exceptions, is an absolute joke. None of them are in touch with what is happening at their hotels unless it is so awful you simply can’t ignore it. If you want to move up in this company you must be a white male, be ridiculously reactive and/or be willing to sell your soul and throw others under the bus to climb the ladder. There are women in some of the higher positions but they are clearly not valued outside of their presence to supporting the company’s lies about diversity. There are several very talented long term employees who are often overlooked in favor of someone who “fits the mold” and are given empty promises that there is something better coming for them… for years! This company continuously violates the rights of their employees and has had several lawsuits against them (google it). They create positions out of nowhere to keep their inner circle people happy/in power while they regurgitate old school corporate jargon over and over at those doing the real work. Think you’re doing well? Think again! No matter what you do, it will never be enough. They do not put money into their extremely old hotels and then want the staff there to somehow exceed the rates and satisfaction scores of brand new hotels right down the street. You will never receive recognition for your hard work… those who do rarely deserve it. The president of this company rules by fear and gotcha tactics and has his direct reports terrified to say anything that is not in 100% agreement with him. This then trickles down the ranks to others who are expected to do hours of needless work in anticipation of who knows what because it is such a taboo to even ask a question in such a toxic environment.
