Pros

Good diverse culture with plenty of social activities, events and celebrations. People are very nice and friendly. Plenty of perks and benefits like 25 annual leave days, up to 6 half-day off per year, free lunch every month, discounts with several local businesses, monthly birthday cakes. The workload is reasonable with less frequency of having to work overtime. Flexible working arrangement is possible. Good projects to work on with some trending technologies.

Cons

A digital agency that doesn't pay their tech people fairly. It's weird that when I started there the company said they're a full-service agency but then a year later they changed it to focus mainly on digital, but after the salary reviews got delayed for 3 months (not backpaid), they gave most if not all the developers a minuscule raise to everyone's disappointment. Some didn't even get any raise. Isobar claims to have "researched" for industry standard salaries and these salary reviews are the result. Three weeks after the salary reviews were revealed, five developers including several seniors and a technical lead resigned and got another job with better pay. Also, it's almost as if you need to be more extroverted to shine here; there's an expectation that everyone needs to participate in every single social activity/event/celebration. Lower pay and recognition for the introverts even though they are skilful and very competent at their jobs. The same for career progression; those who can talk their head off will get ahead more quickly regardless of their technical skills and competency.

Pros

There is a few interesting projects people get to work on Great job if you are one of lucky few who get to do interesting work.

Cons

Senior management team do not have sincere empathy for their employees. This filters down. There is no career progression. They do not follow their own company values, they sound great but they are more for show.

Pros

Good clients. It's fast paced – if that's your thing then great. It's a well respected company and looks good on a resume. They pay well. Opportunities for promotion. They do training days. Drinks on Fridays. Outside of work people are generally friendly and good people. Pool table. New office coming soon.

Cons

The last few positive reviews all appeared in the same day and follow a bad review. Is this screwy? That's how you feel working there. It feels screwy. It felt screwy when they sent all company emails celebrating a client campaign the very same week they lost most of that client to another agency. And it feels screwy that they talk a lot about values, yet never seem to follow them in practice. They say all the right things, but that doesn't necessarily translate to experience. What else? A lack of team work – it's competitive, your colleagues might even relish your shortcomings. There's lots of public backslapping in emails, but in person everyone is in it for themselves. There are some great people at this company, but the politics, competitive nature and under resourcing brings good people down. Under resourcing seems to be a huge issue. People are constantly stressed out. I've never seen coworkers in tears or overtly arguing over projects.. then I worked at Isobar and saw it a number of times. There are also processes and gatekeepers that make your job much harder than it needs to be. A fast pace is good, but churn and burn is not. It feels a little profit over people – they seem to take on more than their resources can actually manage.
