Pros

-Provides a way for recent graduates to live and work in China -Low-level staff/employees are good hard-working individuals

Cons

-Management lie to students and parents during seminars (they use fear as a way to get parents to sign $30,000+ contracts) -Management encourage some of the Chinese and Western staff to be more active in writing student essays (in other words, unethical practices)

Pros

Starting salary is around $40K which in Chinese living standards is quite nice right out of college. You sometimes get to work with incredibly smart motivated high school students who have great ideas and deserve to go to top colleges. Also, the Chinese staff is nice and helpful.

Cons

You're catering to the top 1% of Chinese families, helping them get into top universities in the US. The families are paying upwards of $25K for services, sometimes even $80K. Echoing the review below -- yup, the management lies, to the clients and to prospective applicants, they would try to hide certain aspects of the business from the Western staff. They wouldn't mind engaging in unethical behavior, such as rewriting the essays, actively editing the resume and writing draft SAT essays for the students to memorize. "That's just the business," they'd say. At the interviews, they will say that they aren't like other companies, but they are, especially the management (Chairman, CEO, Beijing Staff).

Pros

-Great co-workers -Good salary -Plenty of responsibility -Opportunity to work both as part of a team and individually -During the "off" season, there's diversity in the work you're doing (teaching, marketing for company, etc.) -Opportunities to rise in ranks -Understanding superiors

Cons

-During application season, workload gets pretty intense; for a couple of weeks it's not uncommon to be staying at the office until 8 or 9. -Company is/was in process of expanding, so there were frequent changes in policy -Training was initially sparse, but this has improved -Communication among upper management could be improved
