Pros

PTO due to the Jewish holidays and generous union contract. Leftover meals from all the executive meetings help when lunch is unavailable.

Cons

I was extremely proud to see employees speak up about the negative treatment the agency has been making us deal with. There are a lot people like me who don’t have the means to walk away when their heart has been vested in the company and the families for decades. I’ve worked at the center since I was a youth and proudly welcomed my grandchildren in. I decided to look for a new job after I no longer could take the injustice I was seeing. This is no longer a place I recommend to my friends or family and it brings me to tears saying so. The Board members are putting plugs in their ears instead doing what’s needed. Enough is enough. I agree wholeheartedly that the new hr lady along with Steve and addie are no good. True vipers, biting when they can’t get people to do what they’d like. They overuse their power to create fear and if that doesn’t work they put fire under you which makes you want to leave. The Jewish centers haven’t been right since they came in. Changing things around without knowledge on what they’re doing. We went from one system to over five. The company has seen better years.

Pros

Good PTO and benefits Field employees and non management staff are very passionate about the work. Good to be connected to the Jewish community.

Cons

Upper management and executive team portray an attitude of not caring about their employees and administrative teams. The HR department is by far the WORST HR dept I’ve ever experienced, most especially the HRBP. There was never any support or anyone to go to. The HRBP treated me extremely poorly. Employees dread going to work and most morale has been lost. Too much change in a very short period of time. The executive team does not take time to get to know the programs they provide and their employees. To say my experience reached a level of disrespect, is an understatement.

Pros

There are a lot of really great people on the front line to work with!

Cons

SO I recently left my role with J at School - and although I never met her - all I ever heard about was the COO Addie Goodman and how awful she is to the team. She rules by fear and manipulation. I saw Addie's imprint by how she would constantly re organize the J at School staff and get rid of staff that were really well respected by CPS leadership, but clearly not liked by Addie. I am no business expert, but common sense tells me that the COO - ADDIE is clearly the wrong person for the job if she has to continually re-organize the department- clearly in over her head. And FEAR is the worst motivator. Why does she have to be so mean to people? I actually saw people break down in tears talking about a conversation they had with Addie. For me - I actually enjoyed working in a school and loved the kids - but left proactively because I did not want to be let go or ever meet this very MEAN and CRUEL Addie. It's a shame!
