Pros

I loved some of my coworkers, you get off all the Jewish holidays in the fall, you're not stuck at your desk all day because you are touring potential tenants

Cons

No career growth, non-jewish employees (especially women) are not going to get into an real high paying positions in the company. They care most about keeping you when you tell them you're leaving.

Horrible Company

Pros

They pay well compared to other similar management companies. Most of the people I dealt with in the corporate office were very hard working, friendly and personable. You get a lot holidays you’ve never heard of off. They throw one Hell of a holiday party.

Cons

Their PTO policy is a joke. Their 401k is a joke. Their medical and dental insurance may be good in New Jersey, but in Connecticut it is a joke. Discrimination and favoritism are rampant. They are not so much a business as they are a religious organization with a business. If you are not a member of their religious organization, you are not one of them. It doesn’t matter how hard you work, how good you are at your job, or how loyal you are to them. You are NOT one of them. The members of their religious organization are treated better, they get better promotions, higher pay, bigger bonuses, and more time off. If you bring this to their attention, they will brush you off. In less than a year after JCM took over the property that I worked at I watched as it deteriorated from a great place to work to one of the most toxic work environments I’ve ever experienced. They inherited a great team of amazing people. A team that took years to build and cultivate. And they completely fumbled it through poor management and lack of leadership. They will lie to you. They will withhold information from you that’s pertinent to perform your job and then blame you when things go wrong. They will drive wedges between coworkers and friends to maintain control. They will harass and threaten you if you dare to stand up for yourselves. They will spy on you and illegally record your conversations. They will knowingly ask you to break the law and put people’s lives in danger to save money. Fair Housing and Labor laws mean nothing to them unless it serves their purpose. With very few exceptions they will NEVER accept responsibility or hold themselves accountable when things go wrong. There is no career path unless you use whatever empty title they give you to get hired somewhere else. And if you decide to leave, they will act like they can’t comprehend why you would want to leave. They will offer you more money to stay because that’s all they understand, and any other concerns you try to bring to their attention will fall on deaf ears.

Pros

While they pay a fair salary, they keep a lot of things hidden from you.

Cons

You’ll have no idea what a train wreck you’re walking into or the toxic environment you’ll be facing. The majority of current Management there was resentful of their employer, unprofessional, poorly trained and bullied new employees.
