Fresh graduates: Think twice!

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

- Compensation is fair compared with other EPC competitors. - There is downtime in between fast-paced deadlines (time to rest). - Superiors are mostly great people who will always be accommodating to your questions. - Cadetship training offers you a head start in the work procedures and assignments.

Cons

- Compensation is okay within the EPC field BUT if you are a fresh Chemical Engineering graduate seeking to earn big bucks as falsely promised by peers during your first year in college, go find another career path (trust me). - Even if the work becomes fast-paced, you can hardly learn much due to the work being output-oriented instead of process-oriented. Efficiency is prioritized over learning. - Organization of documents/files in project servers can get messy and confusing. Inconsistent document control. - Top management is terrible at understanding the needs of the employees and fails to connect with their concerns and demands. - Work is extremely technical so if you are planning to try another career path after, it might be hard to translate your qualifications and credentials from this company to the next one.

Unreasonable Promotion Policy

Recommend
CEO approval
Business outlook

Pros

Good for starting career. Good training ground.

Cons

Has a unreasonable promotion policy for Engineering 2 and above. Requires you to pass a personality test that has nothing to do with work. If you fail the personality you automatically fail the promotion without being interviewed by a panel. Employees are overworked. Workload and work role is not equal to the compensation. HR seems to be disconnected or out of touch from employees. More concerned with productivity over the safety of the employees during pandemic. Low salary compared to others. Not enough to support a family.

no work-life balance,

Pros

this is a good venue to gain knowledge and experience as process design engineer in the oil and gas field if this will be your chosen lifelong career

Cons

overtime is like the culture of the company. it is rare to see employees leave office by 5pm and it is common to stay late in office until morning, especially during deadlines. it will be difficult to separate personal life from work once employed. the compensation is also not competitive compared with other companies.
