Pros

A few pros: - A few talented colleagues. - Reasonably interesting project work. - Remote work. - Culture on paper is great*

Cons

- The management structure is dreadful - inexperienced and reactive. - The name sake of JH thinks he is a blessing to the world of Magento - he isn't - Client services team is fragmented, with a new appointment, whom is quite clearly out of their depth. - People are treated as a resource. - Poor remuneration when looking at the wider market. - Work is carried by a talented few- there are others in the company who are carried and rarely seen - what do they even do? - *Culture and values on paper is great. In reality, it's just poor. An organisation that just doesn't genuinely appreciate the work some people put in. JH is stagnating. The company had great potential...once.

Pros

Some really talented developers. Flexitime & working from home but this is becoming more standard in the industry now

Cons

The ultimate problem with JH is that the company has no process, nothing is documented and above all, there are people in the management team who do not know how to run a company like JH. There are people at JH who are not team players. They do things for themselves with the end goal being that they can puff themself up and shout about how good they are. All of this ends up driving a toxic culture that isn’t nice to be in. The management team are nice to your face but talk ill of you behind your back. Favouritism is rampant with some people being given all the opportunities and others getting nothing no matter how hard they shout. There is no progression format at all, you don’t know what to do to get promoted and no one cares if you say you want to work on “x” project to gain new experience. You always feel completely forgotten about, it’s as if you don’t even exist. No one ever listens to your ideas; the egotistical members of the team push their vanity projects instead and make you feel like you’re stupid. JH doesn't care about its employees and everyone is disposable, they do nothing to keep existing employees from leaving when concerns are raised. They ignore them and go back to shouting about how amazing the culture at JH is. Work is really boring and there are no challenges, unless you're one of the select few that gets to work on all the good projects. It is the most unmotivating place I have ever worked.

Pros

Location is good, whenever there's enough people in the office to create an atmosphere. Some team members are strong.

Cons

The company is run to meet the ego of the owner. I should have guessed that as the company's named after him, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Externally they come across as valuing their team, having a great supportive culture, being "exceptional" but I didn't find this at all. I fell for their HR marketing. I found the culture to be toxic. It's run by fear. The owner is cut-throat and obnoxious about colleagues and clients.
