Pros

-A majority of the people are really lovely and have the best intentions. -Although this has changed recently due to the pandemic, the benefits are still pretty good. -If you are strictly PR or want to be an account person (and are white), this is the place for you - and I mean that sincerely.

Cons

-Really embarrassing lack of diversity for a company that's been headquartered in Atlanta for 25+ years. On top of that, the minorities within the organization are typically left with the burden of educating the other employees on what is okay and what is not from a racial perspective. -Extremely political and how far you make it depends on how close you are to certain members of the ET. There have been numerous times where certain employees get exuberant raises while others continue to make very little and it is all dependent on how well you "play the game." -There is very little opportunity to grow within creative, digital, and any other department that isn't directly related to PR or account partnership.

Pros

My mentor was the best part of my experience there. Nice severance.

Cons

I should've known from the lack diversity on my teams what I was in for. Another glaring red flag was the two connections I knew quit THE WEEK I STARTED. During the interview process, I asked what the onboarding process looked like and they claimed to be flexible. But when it came down to it, some members simply weren't good at communicating needs and yet they still expected you to "catch on". I had a really hard time adjusting and felt really alone, especially since we were working from home and I had no rapport with anyone. They let me go (after the most strenuous interview process ever). And the worst part is, it was due to a client I didn't even initially interview for. Keep in mind that salary was under the market average and they settled at $5K under what I asked. I honestly think I just wasn't JS material. I went on to immediately find a job that checked off every box I had and affirmed me that after that whirlwind experience, I wasn't crazy.

Pros

If you are straight out of school you will learn a lot! ( and be paid very little.) It’ll be worth it if you leave after 2 years or so. Anything longer than that and you will find you could be making $30-40k more elsewhere. But you will absolutely learn and grow as a professional and the clients you will work on will carry enough clout to get your foot in the door elsewhere. Very tight knit relationships can be formed. Some of the most thoughtful and kindest people and leadership, but kindness doesn’t pay bills. The Dallas team is nimble and quick to put out high quality work product. They are an impressive group and while lacking in diversity it’s not nearly as embarrassing or on the scale of ATL. They get ish done. Atlanta on the other hand has just accepted we’re going to be old school and take forever on everything and call it being “thorough.” Retreat is kinda cool. Offices are nice looking.

Cons

Salary. I was amazed how much more I was offered after leaving. I now realize my raises were higher bc they paid so little. If you are a person of color, know the diversity is lacking. It’s actually scary that a company in downtown Atlanta can have so few black people. There’s a reason for this and it starts from the top down who have said repeatedly that they can’t find talent. Meanwhile recruits at UGA and Auburn repeatedly. For a mid-career or senior black person, the micro aggressions aren’t worth it. They don’t really trust their employees. Time tracking is done and edited by the quarter hour and managers nickel and dime budgets. They want ppl in office, always have and do so under the guise of collaboration. It’s actually for oversight. Salary. Hours are long - 8:30-5:30 last I checked. That’s an extra hour on a 9-5 and they actually try to enforce it. Not ideal. Vacation and holidays are bla and anytime someone mentions it they lay out how much money it would cost to close as if that’s our fault. Constantly tries to justify lackluster benefits and billable expectations by comparing to other companies.
