Only Nepotism & Politics Mattered- Not Employees
Pros
JSU provided great benefits in terms of health insurance, great retirement plan, etc.
Cons
Nepotism and patronage at its finest. Advancement was never granted based on merit, but who you knew, who you were related to, or in other unethical circumstances (ex: the girls willing to sleep with married men to get a raise). Your skills never mattered. I worked in a department where the mistresses were rewarded with ridiculous, undeserved raises (10-12 thousand dollars at a time), while the descent employees did all the work and struggled to pay their bills. Very sexist and cut-throat environment. Did I mention women are treated like a piece of meat? No respect and low pay. I was also a student, and nepotism and politics also played a role in a student’s success. Hard work never pays off at JSU.
