Pros

Good family underneath it all I think. Could be a great place to work again if the family ever pulls their heads out of the sand and takes it back over. It's getting really close to too late though as all the good people are gone. Used to be innovative until those with vision were run off. Fatal blow was when an employee who had been there pretty much from the start and was the one man who is a real leader and could have taken the company to great places got fed up and left. He knew how to manage people and how to get the best out of them by treating them properly. He got it. And, he got out too. I don't think the family really understood what a real gem they had there.

Cons

Every bad cliche of the worst upper management applies. If you are creative then you are a threat, will be put in your place and likely eliminated. If you are talented then you are a threat, will be put in your place and likely eliminated. If you have independent thought and ideas then just forget it as here is no place for that here anymore. This is a nearly 50 employee one man show. Resistance is futile and compliance will only prolong the inevitable. Eventually you end up in the crosshairs either way.

Pros

This is a great place to work but if you didn’t get referred by the COO or Jackson family, you won’t grow. Almost half of the company are the COO friends. The Jackson family are truly one of the best people you could meet. They need to start thinking about taking back their company. COO makes all decisions and keeps his people in the higher positions with great pay. Raises aren’t managed well. Customer service or general jobs who have no experience, get paid more than higher up positions. No review process, goals to meet, or expectations. No training besides a few days. They will give people who weren’t referred by COO or family way more duties without compensation. Expect to see some family members getting paid with no position or working. Managers take many vacations yearly.

Cons

Hybrid or at home work. Free coffee, snacks etc. Lots of free lunches and some great people working with you. Birthday off

Pros

Employee Appreciation Week: One of the hallmark events at Jackson Systems is the Employee Appreciation Week. This event is highly anticipated. Share the Love Club: This initiative is a brilliant way to encourage interdepartmental bonding and understanding. By bringing together employees from different departments who may not interact on a daily basis, I will say though, even though they do it, depending on the department. Some of the departments choose not to mingle kind of defeating the purpose.

Cons

While Jackson Systems offers a vibrant company culture and unique initiatives that many employees appreciate, there are also aspects of working there that outweigh the pros. Leadership Concerns: Although Tom Jackson is highly regarded for his genuineness and leadership, his partner, Carl Kasten, presents a significant contrast. Carl's approach to management and interaction with the team has raised concerns, including perceived incompetence, and rudeness. This disparity in leadership styles lead to an environment that felt inconsistent and, at times, unwelcoming. Management Issues in the Sales Department: The sales department, in particular, faces challenges with its management team. Descriptions of one manager being overly influenced by Carl and another adopting a non-confrontational stance that avoids addressing and solving problems highlight a leadership effectiveness issue. This situation lead to frustration among myself and other team members who seeked supportive and proactive leadership to drive the department forward. Lack of Problem Resolution: The presence of a "yes man" mentality within the management structure, coupled with an avoidance of confrontation, suggests a broader issue with problem resolution within the company. When issues were not directly addressed or solved, it hindered the department's and the company's ability to grow and improve, impacting morale and productivity. Adding to the challenges faced by employees at Jackson Systems, particularly those in sales positions, are the concerns related to compensation and performance expectations: Unrealistic KPIs and Impact on Salary: Employees in sales roles are faced with highly ambitious and often unrealistic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These targets will be difficult to achieve, especially because the marketing department has no idea what they are doing. There are several factors beyond your control that can significantly impact the ability to meet sales goals. Management's Approach to Salary Concerns: The management team's response to these challenges, particularly regarding how they impact salary, add to the frustration. Advising employees to "focus on what you can control" without acknowledging or addressing the external factors that influence their performance and income feels dismissive. This approach does not provide a constructive solution to the issues at hand and may lead to feelings of being undervalued and unsupported. Direct Effect on Income: The combination of ambitious sales targets and a lack of management intervention means that employees' income can be directly affected by circumstances out of their control. This situation lead to financial instability and dissatisfaction impacting my motivation and commitment to the company. Need for Reevaluation of Sales Targets and Support: To address these issues, there is a clear need for the reevaluation of sales targets to ensure they are realistic and attainable. Additionally, providing more supportive management practices that acknowledge the challenges faced by sales staff and actively work towards addressing them could significantly improve morale and financial outcomes. In conclusion, alongside leadership and management challenges, Jackson Systems faces critical issues related to compensation and performance expectations in sales roles. Addressing these concerns is crucial for maintaining a motivated and satisfied workforce, ensuring that the company's strong culture extends to all aspects of the employee experience.
