Stressful job with poor management and no career advancement opportunities
Pros
Free tickets to some events, but it's limited. Most of the people were cool, but a lot of the people I knew aren't there anymore either. Management doesn't care about turnover.
Cons
No benefits, poor hours, bad management that doesn't take feedback well, overworked, not flexible with vacation if you're a man. They don't care about employee turnover or retaining good employees. All of the office employees were required to work every Bluestem show with no extra pay. There are 12-16 events out there per season. That is a lot of missed income. When I asked for time off on a show day I was only granted time off a few times in 3 seasons. They were more flexible with female employees missing shows. Management favors women over men, and is more flexible with them for time off. I felt I always had to give an "excuse" to be granted time off. It's none of anyone's business why i wanted time off. Hours: 8+ and weekends, and while on vacation. At times I was expected to work while I was on vacation. Mostly because people didn't plan ahead enough with their requests.
