Pros
For the most part, coworkers are friendly and value teamwork. Certain departments are great and care about employee happiness/engagement. Some benefits are nice (many holidays, converting sick days to vacation time, employer contributions to HSA, etc.).
Cons
Some fairly outdated policies (parental leave policy is lacking). Dynamics and flexibility can change abruptly when there is a change in Town Manager or Council Members. Pay for certain positions is not great, resulting in high turnover in some areas. When I left, they wouldn't allow us to hire at a higher rate than the starting base, regardless of experience, which resulted in the best candidates turning down the job. I'm not sure if this has changed since.
