      Run Away and Don't Look Back

      Pros

      Other than some truly dedicated and proficient coworkers, it is difficult to find many pros to this company.

      Cons

      The management and working conditions within the Environmental group are absolutely toxic. Benefits are average and the pay rates are below industry standard. The company pretends that it is regional or even national in scope, but almost all of their revenue comes from work within the state of North Dakota. There are few opportunities for advancement and the company is currently in a downward spiral. Lay-offs, resignations, and firings are rampant. Employees serious about their careers and seeking advancement should avoid KLJ. This was possibly the worst departmental management I have experienced in my career.

      Pros

      Nice atmosphere, with generally pleasant staff members. Its developing a good corporate system as they grow larger.

      Cons

      Wage is low, they recently restructured their benefits to show "competitive wages" and basically took from one pocket to give to another. Because the job market is competitive, the experience you gain will have more value at other firms. Thus the company is a revolving door for most employees, 5 years to get to a senior level spot and then you can pack your bags to go get paid what you're actually worth somewhere else.
