Pros

Perfect place for steering wheel holders to obtain a class A cdl. Good place to begin as an owner operator.

Cons

Leasing is the only option if u want to earn a decent income. Lease purchase is with stripped down company driver trucks with no owner op specs whatsoever. Company has changed focus to the training dept. And as a result they are becoming a CDL MILL. Gotta be a driver trainer to get miles, otherwise u work for a truck payment. Jackson driver academy is certified by state of Mississippi to issue state driving test, which in turn they are handing out cdls to people that have no control over the trucks. Company CSA score is well below DOT threshold. Company truck specs cause little power and poor fuel mileage which makes for an expensive lease to try and be profitable enough for any quality home time. Office personnel are rude towards drivers. Driver turnover rate is among the worst I've ever seen. Never get u home ontime and load home will be 300+ miles from home so u have to dead head to get home. Could go on and on and on.....

Pros

Nice new trucks free showers at terminals

Cons

I'm currently a kllm lease purchase driver under a one year contract. The first 2 months of my lease were great I was getting good miles as I was working with the newbie dispatcher I was soon placed with another dispatcher and my miles decreased every month on average I make about 500 a week before taxes since we are 1099. I stay out 4 and 5 weeks at a time with no home time or drive bys. All through school they spoke very ill of other big companies such as swift and crst but the drivers I have spoke to from those companies seem to be doing better than myself. I'm currently 8 months in and am trying my hardest to fulfill my contract and get a year of experience to find a better opportunity. If your looking to make money this is not the place to do it. If you just need a license and experience then go right ahead.

Pros

They were a GREAT Company to work. When I started I would have recommend this company to anybody I meet. They cared about the people they hired!!!!!

Cons

No if you have a pulse and can hold a steering wheel you've got a job. They don't care about there drivers anymore and if you go into a lease with them I hope you are single and do not have a family to support. Because like other posts have said, you will make enough to pay KLLM's truck payment, cause let face it the truck is not yours until you have the title in your hand. You can not fuel at pilot anymore because KLLM dose not get a kickback from the fuel that you pay for. There fuel surcharge is a joke, there policies for road breakdowns are an even better joke. They have turned into a CDL Mill, they want you to train and then when a student messes up there truck and your livelihood. You are responseable with little to no help from KLLM.
