Pros

- You can grab a soft drink whenever you want - Genuine good people at the core of this business. Past and present. The company strives purely on abusing the good hearted nature of good people who are trying to progress their careers, all while slowly being drained of every bit of passion they have, and eventually being kicked out

Cons

- Company CEO speaks in buzz words and shows graphs about how secure it is to be a human employee within KOMI literally three months before a massive wave of redundancies and creating an AI team - The senior leadership team consists of a bunch of people who will retire at KOMI. They have so happily finessed their way to the top of the food chain and strive off of going for 1-1 coffee's at the local coffee shops over actually trying to manage a business - They have replaced any form of creativity in the business with AI generation, all in an attempt to cut costs, and their biggest brands are suffering because of it - Their competitors latch onto trends so much earlier than them and they try to hide the fact they're so unsuccessful in capitalising on trends in social media by projecting stats inflated by a YouTube channel accusation to make them feel better about themselves - Consultations for redundancy are done by members of the SLT who ask "And what was your role again?" to members who have been at the company multiple years - Business update meetings regarding redundancy are transcribed by Google Gemini so that post meeting employees can read about what gossip was said by the SLT about individual members behind their backs - They're a social media company that's based entirely on the performance of Facebook and once that platforms need changes, they kick half the business out - As a video editor you are expected to edit, source, publish, manage, report statistics, generate AI children not getting fed in school, work overtime, cover your holiday in advance by editing beforehand, tolerate head of departments hogging the karaoke mic at socials, and put a timer on yourself for how long your edits take. - Each team is segregated. This isn't a family, it's a business. You are essentially scolded by your manager / head of department if you aren't working. - 30 minute lunch that you can't eat in the kitchen because they've expanded ineffectively that literal kitchen tables are dedicated workspaces. - Massive wall piece of all their "brands" but half of them don't get posted on anymore - Dedicated editing suite feels like a SHEIN workshop for AI slop generation that editors then have weekly meetings on reviewing performance of - Should you accept a role at KOMI, you will be replaced. By either an AI, or a fresh graduate. You can start here, but you don't have a future here.

Pros

-Very friendly employees -If you want to be made redundant, this is the place to go!

Cons

-Lied about quarterly bonuses -Told us our department was never at risk of redundancy in December, announced we were at risk of redundancy in March -Certain higher ups in the company are extremely arrogant and condescending -Company has no long term aspirations, they only think short term gains. They are happy to damage page reputation by pumping out misleading AI content if it means they'll make an extra $2.57

Pros

- Pretty decent pay - Ability to work your way up - Good socials

Cons

- I was conveniently "let go" a week before the company announced a large round of redundancies within my team. They also didn't follow their own disciplinary procedure when doing this, I was given no formal warning or put on a PIP like other colleagues. - The actual job/structure is exploitative, we were profiting off of burn victims and mums that had lost their kids. We would sit in meetings and brainstorm how we could find new videos of children in danger or pregnancy issues. Every researcher in the team saw broken bones, abuse, violent content and at least 3 dead babies a week. - The company claims to be for their workers mental health but when I was honest about mental health struggles, opened up to my manager and took one day of their "unlimited mental health days" it was brought up in my disciplinary meeting as a reason for being let go - I was promoted into management rather quickly and asked for a year for additional training in it but I never received proper management training - I was constantly compared to other researchers on my team and was constantly expected to be the teams top performer - They use their company values to exploit you, I was told multiple times I wasnt "embodying the values" because I refused to work continuous unpaid overtime (around an hour to two hours per night) - There were some individuals that were complete micromanagers - They hire people fresh out of university who have never had a professional job and distract them with a flashy office and snacks, so that they don't realise how badly they're being treated - It was wild that they started the redundancies with the already small HR department
