Pros

Previously offered a genuinely flexible remote-first culture, but is transitioning to a flexible hybrid model (Note: many employees perceive this as an attrition strategy, as the company cannot afford to keep paying out redundancies to long-term employees.) IC capability remains above average across the organisation despite the culture issues

Cons

Reviews written prior to 2025 no longer reflect the reality of working at Kablamo. The organisation has been in steady decline for some time, and the culture today is unrecognisable from what it once was. Public criticism relating to a lack of diversity at the leadership level led to the rise of a powerful and aggressive, toxic feminist senior leadership clique, while the impotent senior male leaders failed to protect the safe work environment. Leadership cohesion supporting perceived high performers or those perceived to be in critical roles often comes at the expense of organisational health. Kablamo was once a genuinely exciting place to work, built by passionate employees who believed in the company’s values, took ownership of client outcomes, and collaborated openly. Today, morale is noticeably lower. Many employees feel disconnected and underappreciated, and openly claim they are waiting to cash in their largely worthless shares or receive a redundancy payout. - Strategic direction pivots yearly. - Sales performance has struggled to produce a sustainable post-COVID growth model. - Leadership accountability appears limited, with poor outcomes rarely addressed transparently. - People and Culture initiatives have coincided with a significant deterioration in trust and engagement. - Culture toxicity has been well documented in other reviews; concerns raised publicly are reflected in both Australia and Canada.

Pros

• Some managers and colleagues were supportive and professional during the majority of my tenure • Opportunity to work with various technologies and client projects • Initially provided learning opportunities in the consulting environment

Cons

• Unprofessional termination process: Management engaged in a 5-month period of increasingly unfair treatment before termination, creating a hostile work environment • Inconsistent performance standards: Goals and expectations were frequently changed without clear communication, making it impossible to meet shifting requirements • Public humiliation tactics: Issues were addressed inappropriately in group settings rather than through constructive private feedback • High turnover of quality engineers: Multiple skilled engineers were terminated during restructuring, indicating systemic management issues rather than individual performance problems • Lack of professional references: Despite years of service, management refused to provide references, even for employees who had contributed significantly. Contacted previous tech managers several times in various ways without any replies.
