Positive Culture. Confused front line.

Pros

Positive culture, fun times if you're into Foosball, Nerf or Video games. Career Opportunities. Everyone has a chance to build something great there. Great location, downtown Victoria vibe.

Cons

Bad time if you're into anything else besides Foosball, Nerf or Video games. Management are 3 guys with little sync on their vision. Conflicting goals through employee asks. Little or no revenue sharing opportunity. Heavy reliance on Public cloud. Very little owned infrastructure or assets. Bad time if any of them are offline. Game 'whales' are given a free pass when found to be abusing terms of service, creating a toxic community.

Not good

Pros

Doesn't have much to say in pros. Probably only thing worth mentioning is the occasionally free beer in the fridge.

Cons

Management is chaos and cannot keep up their promises. Benefits is not real. Pays little. No opportunists. They promote what is called "plugin" mode which really just force u to do nothing but working.

Bad place to work with nice people

Pros

Core staff of developers and creatives are good to work with and you will make friends

Cons

Over worked and underpaid. Lots of creative ideas killed to make as much money with as little risk as possible. Management is aimless and pick up and drop ideas all the time. No room for growth as they prefer to hire new instead of promote.

Thank you for your feedback. With tens of thousands of players engaging with our games at any given moment around the globe, it’s extremely important for us to ensure that those players can access our games without issue. As such, while based predominantly in Victoria BC, Canada, our team sometimes needs to rally at odd hours to serve our players appropriately. With new projects in development and a fast changing industry, we are also held by expectations of our players to deliver. That all said, we do believe in work life harmony and encourage anyone feeling overwhelmed to reach out and speak to their manager so that we can help create that space. We target profitability in order to provide our players with continued engagement in our existing games and to build new games. Our desire as a company is to stand the tests of time and continue to listen to our players and deliver to their expectations and not purely to our own creative desires. Our players' support has helped us to continue to grow over the years and given us the opportunity to create games that last. Our compensation philosophy aligns with this as well, where we strive to be competitive against the market, while creating shared success through our uncapped profit share program. With respect to growth opportunities, we are currently in the process of better defining our internal career ladders to more effectively help people see their path for advancement within the business.
